Unpaid carers and professionals who support them are being invited to a ‘sharing and learning’ event being held later this month.
South Tyneside’s first Unpaid Carers Sharing and Learning Event will be an opportunity for people who are looking after someone because of an illness, disability, mental ill-health or an addiction to come together with statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations to hear and learn about innovations, new projects and support.
The first event will focus on ‘identifying and supporting carers’ with a spotlight on underrepresented and marginalised groups. It will hear about work to identify carers who support someone with an addiction, how some organisations are working to identify and support carers from ethnic minority backgrounds and lots more.
It is also an opportunity for professionals from statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations and people who are looking after someone because of an illness, disability, mental ill-health or an addiction come together to share and hear more about support, services, innovative projects and build on learning and development.
The event is being held on Tuesday 12th July from 10am to 12noon at Jarrow Focus, Cambrian Street, Jarrow, NE32 3QN.
